Lead Compliance Analyst, Data Analytics

Job Description The Lead Compliance Analyst, Data Analytics -- to be based in Kalamazoo, Michigan or Allendale, New Jersey -- will be a key member of the Corporate Compliance team as a subject matter expert (SME) supporting multiple Stryker divisions and its Global Legal & Compliance (L&C) department.  These responsibilities will encompass: Data Analytics Development of a Global L&C Data Analytics Program (DAP) to help L&C professionals and other stakeholders identify and mitigate legal and compliance risk. Providing data analytics support using a range of software tools (e.g. Microsoft Office suite, Power Bi, Tableau, Alteryx) to identify, extract, transform, and analyze data and provide insightful and actionable information for the Global L&C department and other stakeholders. Providing development and training to the Global L&C department on data and analytics tools. Data Analytics Responsibilities: Assisting or leading the design, development and delivery of Compliance DA program based on a well-structured process to ensure accurate and reliable business information and trends related to key compliance activities. Analyzing and interpreting large volumes of data communicate insights and findings to compliance stakeholders and business partners. Collaborating with Compliance Officers (COs) and key compliance stakeholders to understand divisional compliance risks and business drivers and develop a framework-driven process of analyzing problems/questions to mitigate compliance risk. Developing data collection plans and working with data SMEs to identify the correct data elements to complete analyses, to improve understanding of the data content, discerning field meanings and assessing data quality. Filtering and cleansing data using manual validation and verification methods. Examining data using tools and methodologies to find patterns and trends that merit further analysis. Developing, analyzing and presenting relevant compliance metrics for internal and external audiences. Creating and maintaining protocols, guidelines and documentation for Compliance DA program. Identifying, analyzing and interpreting trends and patterns in complex compliance data sets. Preparing reports on a periodic and ad-hoc basis to key stakeholders and senior leaders. Collaborations and Partnerships: Develops strong relationships with the Information Services (IS) department to leverage expertise and foster collaboration. Collaborates with IS team to extract, transform and process data from multiple disparate data sources. Directly interacts with data custodians and experts to identify sources of data and work with data SMEs to extract and to improve existing data. Supports compliance training and systems team with scoping reporting requirements for systems. Supports the legal and compliance teams, including ad hoc reports and analysis for legal requests that may require data analysis support. Provides support to the Corporate Compliance and Global Legal and Compliance teams with data analytics and reporting needs. Provides key compliance stakeholders with monitoring dashboards and analysis to support targeted review of risk areas and compliance program activities. Other Responsibilities: Developing and implementing a compliance monitoring plan - reviewing data, records, and systems relating to interactions with healthcare professionals and institutions. Performing duties specific to functional knowledge/skills and is highly specialized in disciplines or scope of responsibilities. Making decisions of moderate to high impact within area of influence/responsibility. Identifying system or process improvements that increase efficiency, compliance or reduce cost to the business. Making recommendations to compliance leadership, developing and executing plans to implement recommendations in conjunction with compliance management. Pursuing professional development opportunities in data analytics, including external and internal training and professional association memberships, and sharing information gained with co-workers. Representing Corporate Compliance team on organizational project teams and with external organizations. Coordinating work product and activities for one or more employees; peers will include lead analysts, specialists, accountants and supervisors. Providing guidance to less experience employees. Exercising independent judgment. Performing related work as assigned by the manager. Qualifications & Experience: Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience. Possesses strong communication and presentations skills. Possesses and practically applies broad and advanced knowledge skills/abilities and understanding of disciplines within business application. Demonstrates ability to anticipate impact and take initiative beyond direct responsibilities.  Demonstrates professional demeanor and is perceived as highly competent with developing management/leadership skills.  High volume or complex work is completed in a timely and thorough manner with minimal rework.  Ability to show discretion and maintain confidentiality.  Works under minimal supervision and instruction of management.  Demonstrates developing managerial/influence skills.  Basic understanding of budgets and expense management. May make decisions of moderate financial impact. Education & Special Training: Undergraduate Degree. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
